With their bright, contrasting colours and two-dimensional motifs, the prints by Risotto immediately catch the eye. The Scottish-based risography studio was founded in Glasgow in 2012 by designer Gabriella Marcella and especially attracts customers from the music and art scene.
Something we really appreciate: Risotto a zero waste studio. So paper scraps and test prints are upcycled and anything that can\’t be upcycled is recycled.
Risography printing is the most environmentally friendly of all printing techniques, as it uses the least energy, water and alcohol, and uses soy oil-water based inks. These are printed on uncoated paper using a stencil printing process – similar to screen printing. A slight offset and a varying application of ink are part of the risograph\\\’s printed image and make each print a beautifully unique piece.
